If your account is past due more than 30 days, you will receive a notice of your rights to rehabilitation. This notice will be included in your June bill. For your convenience, a copy of the Rehabilitation Notice is available for your review.

Rehabilitation is an excellent way to bring your loan current, return your account to a good status and eliminate any negative information from the credit bureaus concerning your loan.

There is no limit to the number of times you may attempt to rehabilitate your account, although you will not receive the benefits of rehabilitation until you have successfully completed the process. Once successfully rehabilitated, you may not rehabilitate that loan again.

In order to begin the process, you must contact the school that issued your loan. ECSI cannot negotiate the terms of your rehabilitation, although we can provide you with the appropriate contact information for your school. You may contact our Customer Service department by Email at webcservice@ecsi.net. Additional contact information is available on our Contacts page.

Additional information on Rehabilitation can be found in the ECSI documents: "Rehabilitation Regulation" (Notice #19). This document includes links to several non-ECSI resources which can help you understand the process.
