April 29, 2002 The Department of Education has released revised policies and procedures which reduce the paperwork requirements for the assignment of defaulted Federal Perkins Loans. These revisions include the recently approved ED Form 553. The revisions become effective on May 1, 2002. The full text of the document can be found at IFAP's site in Campus-Based Letter CB-02-05.
