July 17, 2003 ECSI is pleased to release a major enhancement to our SAL-NET Service (Terminal Server). You will now be able to print to any printer to which you have access in Windows. You will also have full access to all the features of your printers (multiple trays, overlays). Essentially, whatever is supported in Windows on your PC will now work with SAL-NET with minimal effort. This is made possible through a piece of software called ThinPrint. Prior to using ThinPrint, printing for users of SAL-NET could be a frustrating proposition. Unfortunately, Microsoft designed their product to work in only a limited number of configurations . Certain types of printers (and networks) were very easy to configure. But, some types of printers (such as IP-only printing) were difficult or impossible to get working properly. ThinPrint eliminates all the printing limitations in Terminal Server. Installation is easy and versions are available for both users of Internet Explorer and users of the Remote Desktop Client.
