The U.S. Department of Education was recently informed by
that you are in default in the repayment of your Federal Perkins Loan. Under the U.S. Department of Education's Default Reduction Assistance Program (DRAP), we will work in partnership with the institution that you attended to resolve your delinquency.
If you have already made arrangements with your institution and are repaying your Loan, we thank you for your cooperation. If you have not yet contacted your institution, we strongly encourage you to contact them immediately, at the address above.
Should you fail to take no action, the following could result:
- You may not be able to obtain Federally Supported financial assistance, because of this outstanding debt.
- Withholding of your Federal and/or State Income Tax refunds to offset the amount you owe, plus all late charges.
- Part of your salary could be garnished to offset your loan debt.
- Your credit history could be damaged.
Please, contact the institution listed above so that you can make repayment arrangements or discuss other options that may be available to you. The assistance you need is only a phone call away.
