We intend to deploy a Internet News Server to provide a conference service. Details about the conference service will be available in the near future.

As with any public message facility, we need to develop guidelines for the acceptable use of the service, instructions on the organization of discussion groups, charters for each group, general announcement materials. As with any new software, we need to prepare a comprehensive set of instructions for users of varying levels of expertise.

We will publish acquisition, installation, configuration and usage instructions for a limited number of Newsreaders. As we cannot support every possible application, we strongly encourage you to contribute a set of instructions (as above) if you are using an application we have not reviewed.

This project will address three major areas:

1. Review the published materials for accuracy and readability.
2. Review the list of proposed discussion areas to ensure the topics are useful. Also, ensure that the charter for each topic is concise and acceptable.
3. Test the conference software in a pre-production mode

Each participant is encouraged to provide and be willing to discuss comments and opinions with ECSI and other beta participants. To accomplish that goal, we would like to publish each comment received and our response so that everyone can review, evaluate and debate suggestions.
