On August 2, 2000, the Department of Education proposed changes to the following discharge types: Death; Total and Permanent Disability.
The changes to the death discharge would require an original or certified copy of the death certificate.
The changes to the Total and Permanent disability would establish a conditional discharge period of three years. It would also establish a set of guidelines for receiving a discharge. Finally, it establishes guidelines for assigning disability discharges to the Department.
