This document assumes that you have already downloaded the WinVN installation file. If you have not, you can download wv32i999.zip now. Follow the instructions to complete the initial installation and configuration.
Create a directory for the program to reside. Open an MS-DOS prompt and change to the directory you just created. Download the program into this directory. If you have already downloaded the file, copy it into this directory. Unpack the file using PKUNZIP (e.g., PKUNZIP wv32i999.zip).
To run WinVN, type 'WINVN' at the command prompt. You can create a shortcut on your desktop at any time.
The first time you run WinVN, you are prompted for the directory for the INI file and the Newsrc file. Place them in the same directory you installed the program.
Next, you will be presented with the Communications Options Page. For each prompt, provide an entry according to the table below. Items in bold should be typed exactly as shown. Items in curly-braces {} should be replaced with an appropriate value.
