Help: Student Login

School Codes: Some students have reported an invalid school code appears on their bills. While school code should be two characters, some bills contain three digits. To access you account, you will need to change the school code as follows (this only applies to three digit codes). Replace the first two digits according to the following: 99=A, 98=B, 97=C, 96=D, 95=E, 94=F, 93=G. For example, if your bill has 985 for a school code, the correct code would be B5.

Security: Before you can view your student loan information, you must identify yourself using the login page provided. This information will explain what security methods we use and a description of the actual login form.

Other servicers use a student's demographic information as the method to validate a student. Of course, anyone who knows you probably knows most of your demographic information (phone number, birth date, etc.) ECSI has elected to use a more secure method of access to student financial information by assigning Personal Identification Numbers (PINs).

ECSI supports Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), supported by most browsers. This enables the encryption of transmissions between your browser and our servers. For a more thorough description, see: Secure Pages

Login Page: To successfully complete the login process, you must have the stub from a recent billing statement (the part you tear off and keep). It contains all the information you will need to provide to identify your school, your account and yourself (PIN).

At the bottom of your stub, you will notice a group of three lines. The first line in the group has the PIN number. The last line has your school code and your account number.

The login form requests your school code first. Provide the two or three character code following the word school:. This code may be all numbers, all letters or a combination of both.

Next, you will need your account number. It is the number immediately following the school code and is in the form 123-12-1234. Provide that number, in the Account field. They hyphens are optional.

Finally, you will need the PIN number. A PIN number is between four and nine characters long. It may be all letters, all numbers or a combination of both. You must enter it exactly as it appears on the statement stub.

When everything appears to have been given correctly, press the Login button. One of two actions will occur. If all information provided is valid, you are presented with the loan information for that account. If your login cannot be validated, the login page is presented again documenting the problem that was encountered.

Privacy: ECSI has published a privacy statement for our web site. The information collected on this site is used only by ECSI and the institution who issued your loan. The databases prepared for our web site is not shared with any other party. Information about your loan may be shared with other parties (e.g., government and collection agencies) as per the terms outlined in your Promissory Note or the regulations governing your disbursement. ECSI believes that it has provided a reasonable level of security to prevent unauthorized viewing of student's financial information. Remember, your records are only as secure as your PIN. Therefore, you should not disclose your PIN to anyone.

Common Errors: The most common error message is "Login was not valid, try again." This means that the combination of school code, ID and PIN number did not match those issued by ECSI. Please check your entries closely against the billing stub. Usually, this message is the result of a simple typographic error.

If the PIN number displayed on your stub is all asterisks (*****), the paperwork for your loan was received too late to assign a PIN. You will receive a valid PIN number on your next bill.

The student loan information is updated every morning at 4 a.m. If you try to access your account information during the update, you will receive the message "Database is unavailable (nnn)". The database is generally unavailable from 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., Eastern Time. If you receive this message during normal service hours, please contact our Customer Service Department to report the problem. Include the three-digit number in parenthesis.
