Nurse, Medical Technician, or Fire Fighter
A borrower may cancel a portion of their loan for qualified service as a nurse, medical technician, or fire fighter.
Head Start Staff Member; Pre-K or Child Care Program Staff
A borrower may cancel a portion of their loan for qualified service working in a Head Start program or as a Pre-K or child care program service provider.
Law Enforcement, Corrections Officer, Public Defense Lawyer, or Prosecuting Attorney
A borrower may cancel a portion of their loan for qualified service in law enforcement, as a corrections officer, as a defense lawyer, or as a prosecuting attorney.
Volunteer Service in the Peace Corps or Americorps VISTA
Qualifying Teaching, Speech Language Pathologist, and Librarian Services
A borrower may cancel a portion of their loan for qualified service as a teacher, speech language pathologist, or librarian.
Military Cancellation
A borrower may cancel a portion of their loan for service in the U.S. Armed Forces in an area of hostilities or in an area of imminent danger that qualifies for special pay under Section 310 of Title 37 of the U.S. Code.
