Five Payment Plan Options for UNI

All tuition, fees, and on-campus room and meal plan charges are electronically billed directly to the student by the Office of Business Operations - Student Accounts. Students are billed one semester at a time. Electronic bills (e-bills) are available approximately the 12th day of each month and are typically due on the fifth day of the next month.

Monthly Payment Plan Options at the University of Northern Iowa

Option 1: Pay for each semester in-full by the first Due Date of the semester
Option 2: UNI Deferred Payment Plan Pay for each semester in three monthly payments (incurs a $20 non-refundable administrative fee per semester)

For Options 1 & 2, you make payments directly to UNI.
Option 3: ECSI Monthly Payment Plan (12) Pay for the academic year in 12 monthly payments (incurs a $65 enrollment fee per academic year, $25 is non-refundable)
Option 4: ECSI Monthly Payment Plan (11) Pay for the academic year in 11 monthly payments (incurs a $65 enrollment fee per academic year, $25 is non-refundable)
Option 5: ECSI Monthly Payment Plan (10) Pay for the academic year in 10 monthly payments (incurs a $65 enrollment fee per academic year, $25 is non-refundable)

For Options 3, 4, & 5, you make payments directly to ECSI.

As you plan for your educational expenses, Monthly Payment Plan options administered by ECSI offer a convenient alternative to lump-sum semester payments to meet your college expenses. The Monthly Payment Plan options can make education costs manageable in your family’s monthly budget.

Easy-to-Use

Any parent, guardian or student is eligible for this plan. By joining the Monthly Payment Plan, you are able to pay your expenses on a monthly schedule instead of one lump sum each semester. Upon receipt of your application and fee, ECSI will automatically establish your account and notify the University of Northern Iowa of your participation in the plan.

ECSI offers monthly automatic deductions from a personal bank account (ACH), electronic bills sent to you via email and online and credit card payments. If you are interested in one of these payment options, you can visit the ECSI website at www.ecsi.net for more details. You can also indicate your preference for one of these options on the ECSI application.

Simple Payment Schedule

As a plan participant, you make equal monthly payments beginning as early as May 1. Please note that payments are due on the first of every month. Accounts with payments not received by the first of the month may be subject to account termination. If your account is closed, you are required to pay all university charges directly to the University of Northern Iowa.

ECSI provides a detailed status of your account to the University of Northern Iowa each month. Please refer to the following tables for payment schedule options:

* Additional expenses not covered through this plan are books, supplies, transportation, and personal expenses.

Important Note: You may incur additional charges (e.g., parking, library, or health and wellness) on your University account (Ubill) throughout the academic year. You must continue to monitor your Ubill at least monthly through MyUNIverse and pay any additional charges by the specified Due Date.


How to Enroll

To enroll online, go to www.ecsi.net and click on "Login: Students." Under the Tuition Payment Plan tab click on "Apply for Monthly Tuition Payment Plan." Under the Participating Institutions tab select "University of Northern Iowa" and click on the on-line application. If you do not have Internet access, or prefer to complete a paper version of the application, please call ECSI at 1.866.927.1438.

Once you are enrolled in the plan, you will receive an email from ECSI. ECSI will notify you electronically or mail you monthly bills on the fifteenth of the month and payments are due on the 1st of the following month.

How to make payment to ECSI

You can pay by credit card, automatic debit (ACH) online, or by mail. Please note: with each payment by credit card, a convenience fee will be charged to your credit card. To pay by credit card or to arrange for automatic debit, call an ECSI customer service representative toll-free 1.866.927.1438, or go to their web site at www.ecsi.net.
